Review: A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses

A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses by Molly Harper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is just sooo good!! Nola's grandmother has passed and just before she did, she told Nola the family secret and secured her promise to get the family artifacts back. You see, when her grandmother was young, an American man came to the little Irish village she lived in, looking for a were-deer. Instead, he met a family of witches. Just before he left, he was tasked with taking four magical objects with him and keeping them secure. They had been used to bind another magical family that had been bent on using dark magic. Little did the man know, but when he left she was pregnant with his child.

Fast forward to the present. Nola is now tasked with finding the man (Mr. Wainwright) and getting the objects back. She knows he lives in Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky and that's where she's heading.

Now, she needs to find the four objects before the family that's been bound and make sure to do the binding ceremony again. But it's not an easy job. She needs to find an athame, acorn shaped altar plaque, cow bell, and a large candle. Mr. Wainwright has since passed and the shop he owned has new owners, a vampire to be precise. Also, there's the little matter of the super hot guy next door.
Nola needs to stay on task and find the needed items before time's up and the other family has their magic back.

Sounds like the magical version of the Hatfield and McCoys doesn't it? Throw in some unexpected twists and you have yourself a fast paced, magical romp with enough sizzle to keep you entertained.

This was my first time reading a book by Molly Harper, but it won't be my last!
