Review: Seeker

Seeker Seeker by Amy Reece
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

April's 5 star Review
Ally Moran has always just known about things—things she shouldn’t really be able to know…

Suddenly when she starts having vivid visions about a former friend who is in desperate trouble, the adults in her life think she might hold the key to an ancient mystery.

Jack Ruiz has a troubled past, but is trying to make a fresh start at a new high school…

He just wants to keep his head down and graduate, hopefully before he turns 20. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a feisty redhead and her psychic visions.

While Jack valiantly attempts to keep Ally at arm’s length, she is equally determined to be a part of his life. Who will win this battle of wills?

More importantly…

Can this unlikely couple work together to find answers to Ally’s visions before someone gets killed?
I was hooked from the moment I picked it up and kept me interested from the first page to the last! The characters are very well written and I was quickly drawn into Ally's world and wanted to know as badly as she did on what the was going on, not only with the mystery around her "friend", but also with her emerging psychic abilities. The relationship between Ally and Jack is a sweet, intense, and realistic trip down the memory’’ lane of first love. It left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Crystal's 5 Star Review
16 year old Ally Moran is different. She’s not like the other students she goes to high school with. She has pretty much kept a close circle of friends and doesn’t get involved with student activities. Then one day during class, something strange happens, she has a vision. You see, Ally’s family is different. Both her mom and grandmother have psychic abilities. When she tells them about the visions she is having about someone she used to be friends with, they tell her about her gift and the fact she just might be someone of importance.
Jack Ruiz is just trying to get through high school. He’s been in trouble in the past and is now working to overcome it. He keeps to himself, but has had his eye on Ally since the first moment he saw her. He just didn’t let her know. When he helps her get to the nurse after a vision (he doesn’t know) they become friends. They both want more, but when he finds out her age, he steps back. Nothing though can stop first love. When Jack finds out Ally’s secret, he doesn’t care. Just like Ally doesn’t care about Jack’s past even though he thinks she does.
When the visions become disturbing, Ally realizes she needs to do something. She attempts to try to be friends with the girl again, but the girl is wary. Jack and Ally work hard to figure out what the visions mean before something happens.
I absolutely love this book!! Maybe I am biased because I grew up in New Mexico and lived and worked in Albuquerque. I recognized the names of restaurants and bored my boyfriend talking about the area. Ms. Reece blends both real and fictional places, including schools into the story, weaving one great tale. I definitely recommend reading this series. I fell in love with both the characters and the storyline.
