Review: Demon Street Blues

Demon Street Blues Demon Street Blues by Starla Silver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Crystal's 4 Star Review
This book was an easy read. The characters were great. I knew it was the first in the series, but it ends abruptly, which is the reason for the 4 star review.

The Howard Family has been the protectors of Demon Isle for generations. The Isle is home to a great source of power and has been the home of creatures of all kinds for years. Now the Isle is protected by three siblings and their vampire mentor. Each of the siblings is a witch with a specific power. The eldest, Charlie, is a werewolf on top of making some of the best potions to be made. The middle child, Michael, is an empath and death reader who wants nothing more than to escape the island and to try to live a normal life. The youngest, and only girl, is Melinda, who has the gift of prophetic dreams of death. She's pretty much sealed herself off from society after her first prophetic dream. She didn't know it was her power manifesting and by not acting on it led to the death of two people. She has blamed herself ever since, even though she was only a teen.

Now things are stirring in town. The sheriff contacts them about a skeleton that's been found. Once Michael has read the bones, it sends them from one side of the Isle to another. Trying to find out the cause of the man's death and also having to deal with a spirit possessed dear friend. The book is fast paced, the storyline flows and the characters are intriguing. I am off to purchase the next one now.
